We had decided a few weeks ago to stop the production of the K -1000.
However since the last 10 units in stock were sold within 1 week on ebay and further requests have been arriving,
an additional 30 amplifiers will be produced for delivery in February 2009.
K-1000 Now
The K-1000 Amplifier allows the connection of 2 sets of headphones on the front panel at the same time.
They run parallel and if you use only one set of headphones, either one of the sockets can be used.
The input sockets are located on the rear side of the device and, as is common with studio technical equipment, are implimented as XLR input sockets.
Should you not have the correct cable and connection possibilities, you can get an adapter at your local electronic accessories store.
With this adapter a normal asymetrical chinch cable kann be connected.
The switch "Line/Aux" switches between 2 different amplification levels.Which of the 2 you use is dependant on the output resistance of the source.
You can simply try out which setting utilises the volume control better.
The K-1000 amplifier is a very puristical device without a sound regulator, loudness switch or similar.
This construction was chosen in order to ensure that the input signal is amplified without loss of sound and tone quality.
It is constructed as a pure class A device and because of this it amplifies the music signal extremely distortion free.
Even when turned of , the device stays connected to the power network to ensure an optimal sound developement from the first minute on.
For this reason it is normal that the device remains warm.
The relocated power supply effectively prevents any buzzing or feedback sounds from the transformer.
The amplifier protects both your headsets and your ears from too high sound levels.If the volume remains too high over a longer period,
it is automatically turned off for 5 seconds.This is indicated by the LED on the front panel which will then blink.
Your headset is also protected from variation in the current voltage, which could otherwise potentially damage them.
The Amp will be delivered with SAC sign instead of AKG and with one plug in for AKG and one for varius headphones with 6,3 mm plug.
